Brad and I will celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary in July.
We'd like to take a five day trip in April to celebrate. We're open to anything right now. I figure my sophisticated and fun loving blog buddies might have some ideas on where we should go.
Any places you would suggest?
We travel out of Newark Airport, so it needs to be somewhere relatively easy to get to.

Turks and Caicos!
I vote for beach - Bitter End Yacht Club or wine - Napa Valley tour and bring your sister-in-law along :)
Royal Plantation in Jamaica is nice. Napa is nice too. I really love Sea Island even though it is in the States.
Hawaii.
We went on a cruise to the Bahamas last April. It was amazing, the snorkeling was the best.....too bad I'm too chicken to dive.
Oh and if you go there, look down into that beautiful crystal clear ocean, and see if you happen to notice my digital camera floating around.
:P~
Caneel Bay in St. John, USVI if you want total rest and relaxation.
Hmmm...I say Niagara Falls. I love waterfalls and I'd never get tired of going there. :)
Do not go on a cruise I just heard a horror story on Fox News about this woman falling at the breakfast line and later died.
Hawaii is too far from NJ for shortish trip and so are many of the Caribbean islands. My brother and his wife went to the Ritz Carlton in Puerto Rico for 4 or 5 days and said it was great. I believe they left from Newark too.
Love turks and Caicos and also St. John is fab. I once stayed at the Ocean Club on paradise island in Jamaica. FABULOUS!
I like Bermuda, but it's probably too cold there in April.
The next time I go to Hawaii, I'm going through San Francisco and staying a day on each end because I can't stand the flight from the east coast.
I hear Aruba's nice. As for me, my hubby's never taken me anywhere tropical, but I'm going on our 10th anniversary whether he's with me or not!
Have fun, wherever you decide to go!
Speaking of Aruba - if you're going to do the South Caribbean you should consider Curacao. It's almost totally undiscovered by Americans, the scuba is world class, and there's a simply amazing history museum there. It can be a bit rustic if you venture away from the resorts, but it's more interesting and less expensive than the overly-traveled Aruba.
Do you enjoy hiking? We can't get enough of the Adirondacks.
Jill-Ocean Club West in Turks and Caicos. We loved it!
Vegas, baby. Or if you prefer something a little more romantic, San Francisco. (Sorry. I'm West Coast oriented.)
playa del carmen, mexico!!! it is gorgeous there. there is a ton to do. it's close to cancun and across the bay from cozumel...which is gorgeous, too! there are a bunch of boutique-y types of hotels there. but, there are also gorgeous and luxurious hotels that can be continental or all-inclusive. i love it there!!! i want to retire there, when i get older...actually, anywhere in mexico...
that's my suggestion.
or...rome...excelsior hotel...right by the spanish steps...love it there!!
or...anywhere on the french riviera...there is not one place to look, that is ugly!!!
ok...my suggestions!
for 15 we went to the Bahamas... totally recommend something tropical where you get to sit on a beach and have drinks with umbrellas....
We were also married in April and honeymooned at The Reefs in Bermuda. Small boutique type hotel. Have to dress for dinner every night (hubby was less than thrilled) but really nice. We were dealing with immigration issues as we were moving to Australia and needed something with an easy in and out from NYC airports. Be sure to let us know what you choose.
I think going on a tour of the Sonoma or Napa Valleys would be a great idea. The coastline is beautiful and San Francisco is so close. You can also go down the coast some to Carmel, Santa Cruz and That mid California coastline area.
The other place would be to hop over to Ireland or England. You can se an awful lot in a few days because those islands while bnot small aren't as big as the states.
Little Dix Bay - Virgin Gorda. I just went there for my honeymoon and LOVED every second of it.
wow, you've got some high end blog readers.
I say grab a six pack and head to a motel 6.
did I say that?
Either St.John or BVI or Napa.
Can I come?
If you are going through Newark and fly Continental (their HUB) you can go almost everywhere direct! The world is your oyster! Have a great trip!
