I'm off to peddle my wares!

As you may or may not know-I sell Southern Living at HOME products. I will be away for the next few days on a "business trip"-my sister is having a party on Thursday.

(I wonder if I can expense all the Burger King, Starbucks and TCBY we consume at the rest stops on our journey!) I guess I'll find out when the IRS audits us next year!

Anyway-I'll be back with all my thought provoking and insightful posts in a few days!

It's that time of year again!

No - I don't mean "Back to School!" It's time for the US Open-which means even more distractions for the easily distracted author of this blog!

Thank goodness for DVR or I would be glued to the TV 5 hours a day.

These players are so amazing to watch. The early rounds are a little boring-it's all the superstars knocking off the lower seeds in straight sets. But come Labor Day weekend the excitement builds and the top players go head to head-always fun to watch! I can't wait.

Owen Wilson-Tears of a Clown

Word is that Owen Wilson attempted suicide yesterday. What a shocker! He is such a funny man. Brad and I watch "The Wedding Crashers" and "You, Me and Dupree" over and over on HBO and crack up every time! I really feel for him.

It's amazing how many comedians have a dark side. Look at John Belushi, Chris Farley, Jim Carrey (suffered from major depression), Rosie O'Donnell, Rodney Dangerfield, Robin Williams, Ben Stiller (bi-polar), Richard Jeni (committed suicide earlier this year). The list goes on and on.

Being a performer is very stressful. It must be very difficult to please directors, producers and audiences all the time. Not to mention how scary it must be to have photographers watching your every move. I hope he makes a full recovery!

Crocs Mammoth

I just bought these for my 8 year old daughter -the picture doesn't do them justice. They look so adorable on her! I wanted a pair in khaki for myself-but they didn't have my size! These are much cuter than the traditional crocs. The lining is removable-so you an throw them in the wash when they get dirty. You can't beat the price-only $29.99 (not including the Jibbitz she begged me to get with them!)

We got ours at a local shoe store-but you can buy them direct throught the Crocs website or at Journey's.

Fred on Halloween

This dude is so "friggin" weird.

My 7 year old daughter and her friends love the whole "Fred" series including "Fred at the Park" "Fred on the 4th" and "St. Patrick's Day is COOLIO"...

The Agony of Defeat

Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is usually more important than the outcome. Not everyone can be Number 1.

Arthur Ashe

After a fabulous undefeated season, my tennis team suffered a GRUELING loss today in our Championship match.
(3 - 2)
It's too painful to discuss tonight-but the above picture pretty much sums up how we are all feeling right now!
(On a happy note-my partner and I won our match-against a very tough team.)

have to admit-this is some scary sh---t!

Spice up your life!

I know all my subjects have been fluff thus far-so I thought I'd mention something of relevance to the entire world-THE SPICE GIRLS REUNION TOUR! I totally missed out on the first Spice Girls craze in the nineties-but now I'm in and would love to see the concert! SCARY!

High School Musical 2

Okay-I'm with y'all!! I couldn't wait-my 7 year old daughter couldn't wait. All her friends couldn't wait.

The time has past-and what did I think??? Welp-didn't quite measure up to the first. Still tons of fun-LOVE SHARPAY!

Zac E. looking a bit strange. I'm catching a gay vibe with him-(not that there's anything wrong with that)! I must say he has a FABULOUS golf swing- and I loved the "West Side Story" dance moves.

All in all-some great dance numbers-the opening song "What Time Is It?" is quite catchy-and it's good clean fun for the whole family!

Webkinz

I'm not the only mom who has been "sucked in" to this craze-but it has gone a little too far. My daughter has 60 of these little critters. Normally I don't get involved in this kind of stuff-but I have to admit-I got into the thrill of the chase. I genuinely got a huge rush if I could hunt down a Sherbet Bunny or Dalmatian before anyone else!

My daughter was even earning commission Webkinz for sending business to a retailer 30 minutes from our house!

Needless to say-my husband is pissed!! He hates stuffed animals (too much clutter) and feels this money should be spent in a mutual fund or invested in real estate.

Don't even get me started on the website. My oldest daughter was compulsively drawn to the computer like a moth to the flame. I would literally have to pull her away from the monitor.

One day I decided I'd like to give it a whirl. Now I understand. I love the games-it's so much fun trying to win points to shop-and 45 minutes can fly by pretty darn fast when your playing "Quizzy's Word Challenge." There are much worse vices-but I'm hoping we can move on soon!
