Let's see. Another year gone by. What have I accomplished?
As I ponder the year past I am woefully aware that my milestones, despite all my "busyness," are pretty unimpressive on paper.
I started this blog-that's something-right? I chaired my daughter's school Art Show and volunteered at numerous school events. Ummm. I was the captain of my women's summer tennis team. I started selling Southern Living at HOME (we'll see how long that lasts!). I've been a good neighbor, "the greatest mom in the world" (according to my girls), a decent wife, a GREAT pet owner (those damn dogs rule my house!), a dutiful daughter...but nothing SPECTACULAR springs to mind.
So do I have any goals for 2008? Of course I do, I am now officially on "the budget", I want to make my husband more of a priority (poor fellow), get organized (no lie, I've been saying that since 9th grade!) I'd like to travel more and accumulate less "stuff." I'm also going to practice more "anonymous random acts of kindness" giving to others and expecting no acknowledgment or praise in return.
Other than that I'm just going to "keep on keepin' on." Happy New Year to all of you! Wishing you all a wonderful year to come!

In 2007 my big accomplishment was doing the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk Seattle as the Team Leader for Walkers for Knockers. Our team raised close to $20,000. It's funny I forgot about that until I really sat down and thought about it.
I don't have any real resolutions, I am still trying to decide if I should do the walk for a third time. I like your "Keep on Keepin' on" for 2008.
Anyway, Happy New Year!
I don't usually make resolutions...but I'm thinking I might this year. Mostly I want to bring some of that magical feeling that goes along with anticipating wonderful things back into my life. Any suggestions???
I make the same resolutions every year (besides the usuals, get organized, lose weight, save money)...be more social, join a book club, join a garden club and take up tennis.
Three years ago, DOTR bought me tennis lessons and I still have not redeemed them. I suppose if the opportunity to do the others presented themselves, I wouldn't do them either. Oh well.
You've inspired me to make and list my resolutions. Now you have to inspire me to keep them...ok too much pressure!
This year's big accomplishments were volunteer related for the kids and picking tennis back up.
Next year...better wife, mother, lose weight!, and organize! I would love to get on Happy Homemakers budget and really save some $ for a master bedroom addition. Maybe I should let my hubby in on that one!
Happy New Year!
I think you're right...I just need to pepper little bits of me time into my life.
Thanks!
that random acts thing is great. I handed a fiddy gift card to the woman who checked me in for my mamogram. I'm sure she thought I was crazy but it felt odd and good at the same time.
i love the travel and less stuff idea too.
there is something that feels so light and right about that.
happy new year!
Well, my son's still alive despite his penchant for danger, so on that count alone, I say 2007 was a success. My husband quit smoking (yay hubby!), and I...started a blog, too. Sure, it doesn't sound that impressive, but I put a lot of work into it. And I survived NaBloPoMo, so there's that.
Happy New Year! Hope '08 is great!
What a great post! Sounds like you've had a great year to me! I love your list of resolutions and I'm going to get started on mine!
I too would like to travel more. One priority, finish master bathroom. I'm going on a year and still not finished. Yes, that's way up there. Most of all though, I need to budget and stay on it. It sure would lighten some stress on my Hunny.
I lost about 30lbs. Which "The Biggest Loser" tells me sucks, but my reality tells me is okay.
I didn't shoot any of my co-workers in the face.
That's about all I got.
hmmm...what have i done? let's see...where to start...this blog. haven't forgotten my kids anywhere. last head count...still had five (dammit!) um...joined a gym back in september...haven't gone yet but, hoping that one day, i'll pay it a visit...to see where my money is being thrown out at! gained 7 pounds back...only 33 more to go, to get back to my pregnancy weight...
let's see, i think that about covers it, for now!
heres hoping for a more productive 2008...
happy and healthy to you and yours!
Love the post! Awesome!
