Let's play a little game...

It's called, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE:

Would you rather be a Libertarian or a Socialist?

Libertarians believe in smaller government, less taxes, and more freedom. They believe the answer to America's political problems is the same commitment to freedom that earned America its greatness: a free-market economy, a dedication to civil liberties and personal freedom that marks this country above all others; and a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade as prescribed by America's founders.

or...

Socialists believe in a social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members.
These are very basic definitions, you can do more research if you wish. But I'm curious. Which would you pick if you HAD TO CHOOSE?

Socialist. Possibly mostly because I'm lazy.

I dunno but being a socialist pretty much sounds like living in a compound...no?

I would have to say Libertarian.

The extreme of either would be detrimental to our country.
Each has it own good points.
In life when we choose one way or the highway we make a big mistake.
Whether it's religion or politics the finatics cause our demise. I have many liberal, some conservative leanings. I vote for the candidate not the party. OK I am now getting off my soap box.

I'm a moderate and usually vote for the individual not the ideology. However, I would say I am closer to a Libertarian based on your definition.

Libertarian based on your definition. Either one to the extreme would be harmful to society as a whole but personal responsiblity still outways almost all, as far as I am concerned.

I love the Libertarian philosophy - but it seems like the Libertarian Party can never actually find a candidate who actually believes what they say they believe!

It's funny - I am all for helping those in need (and I really put my time & money where my mouth is on that front) but I think when the government does it -- it always gets screwed up.
