This is my husband's uncle and the family bank in Orwell, VT.
Our federal government, Fannie and Freddie could learn a thing or two from the First National Bank of Orwell.

that is pretty neat.
For real? Your relatives were on the national news?? For something good, too? Sweet!! And yes, those small businesses and banks know what they are doing. It's the big corporations that screw everyone. Pat them on the back for me. :-)
That is so cool. Smart, old school ways. Everyone can learn from that!
It's so refreshing to know that this still exists in our country. We need to get back to these values on a national scale!
So Awesome! I love the pic of the grandfather at the same teller window. Big ups to Uncle in Vt!!
What an awesome story! If we had more people that thought that way, we wouldn't be in this mess today..
Great story! How awesome that your family continues this establishment!
That is so cool.
What a great story! Yes, our larger financial institutions could certainly take some lessons from the small, family-owned banks.
I'm proud to say that our little community bank was named the highest performing bank in the state a couple of weeks ago. I was so happy for them because it is a great business with great people working there.
Is it too late to get an invite to Collage? I might not be able to post much, but I'd love to visit from time to time.

Thanks!
I think they are on to something...perhaps some overpaid CEO's would like to stop in for a cup of coffee with a side of wisdom!
I love that. Seeing things like that makes me realize that is what America is all about. I wish we could have banks like that in our town.
