Who Says Women Aren't Funny?

I'm becoming a bit of a Perez Hilton and I promise some more original posts soon!
Here is one little piece of information I felt I must share. The April 2008 issue of Vanity Fair features Hollwood's Queens of Comedy.
Annie Leibovitz photographed some of Hollywood's top comediennes including, Sandra Bernhard, Tina Fey, Jenna Fischer, Chelsea Handler, Any Poehler, and Sarah Silverman posing as some of today's hard partying starlets.
The article in the magazine addresses the notion that women aren't funny. Women not funny? Whoever said that obviously hasn't read my blog! :)
Anyway, here are some of the photos. Check out the above link. There's a behind the scenes video from the photo shoot that's priceless!
Wanda Sykes as Naomi Campbell
Jenna Fischer as Lindsey Lohan
Sarah Silverman as Amy Winehouse
Chelsea Handler as Pamela Anderson
I'm not sure who Sandra Bernhard is...Angelina Jolie?

Sad, but in my case, true.

I stole this little tidbit from Quintessential Procrastinator's blog. It's a little sexist, but it gave me a chuckle! Cyndy is the recipient of a Caffeine Court "You're the Balls Award" for this one!

Go ahead...MOCK my day!

It's pretty much my life with a camera and celebrities thrown in the mix. She actually kind of looks like me! (And 75% of the women who live in my town.) Should I be offended? :)

Go Granny Go!
Brad and I were clicking through the channels when we came upon this show on Oxygen.
This woman is a 77 year old "renowned sex educator. " Here's a little description of the show from the Oxygen website.
On Talk Sex, Sue candidly answers each and every viewer query. Drawing on her wealth of knowledge gained from over twenty years of experience as a sex educator, she tackles all aspects of sexuality in a funny yet frank, informative
and non-judgmental manner.
Tonight's topic was "toys" and Sue Jo explained exactly how to use them! She really got into details! This show is not for the squeamish, but if you want a good laugh, check this one out.

No pressure!
My first post of the New Year and I'm makin' it a throwaway!
I came across and article from Entertainment Weekly listing the funniest TV lines from 2007.
If you like "The Office" or "Conan O'Brien" you're in luck because apparently they have the funniest writers in the business.
Here is a sampling-you can hit the above link for the entire list.
''Scientists say because of global warming they expect the world's oceans to rise four and a half feet. The scientists say this can mean only one thing — Gary Coleman is going to drown.''
CONAN O'BRIEN, ON LATE NIGHT
''I don't think that this is totally just a woman's suit. At the very least, it's bisexual.''
MICHAEL (STEVE CARELL), AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF WEARING WOMEN'S CLOTHES TO WORK, ON THE OFFICE
''Today the Olsen twins turned 21 years old, which means they're now old enough to drink. Still no word on when they'll be old enough to eat.''
CONAN O'BRIEN, ON LATE NIGHT
''Sometimes the clothes at Gap Kids are just too flashy. So I'm forced to go to the American Girl store and order clothes for large colonial dolls.''
THE PETITE-SIZE ANGELA (ANGELA KINSEY), DISCUSSING HER SHOPPING HABITS, ON THE OFFICE
''One of the most popular gifts for high school graduates this year is a gift certificate for plastic surgery. Apparently, the gift certificate is a perfect way to tell a recent graduate that you can be anything you want to be but not with that giant honker.''
CONAN O'BRIEN, ON LATE NIGHT
Here's to another year of great comedy!

Gifts for the hard to shop for!
For people who hate rubbing that sweaty butt crack smell on their face! The Original Butt Face Towel-at:
Merlin's Box.com

(You can use your Butt Face Towel on him)
also from Merlin's Box.com
Mooning Garden Gnomes
The Obsessive Compulsive Action Figure (from Amazon.com)
The Obsessive Compulsive action figure stands 5 ¼" tall. Razor-neat, sterile-white, christened with a perpetually dismayed and mildly disgusted expression, the Obsessive Compulsive features a miniature surgical mask and a full-size hypoallergenic sanitary wipe that should be opened and used prior to removing the Obsessive Compulsive action figure from his packaging. Welcome to Hell. For the Obsessive Compulsive, the nightmare begins the minute he rises from his sparse, troubled sleep. The morning is a mixture of monstrous time-consuming rituals. He perceives an infuriating substandard level of cleanliness even in his own sealed and sanitized apartment, a fact that only seems to punctuate the germ-laden maelstrom of chaos located beyond the threshold of his front door. Very often he requires his surgical mask and gloves to move among the horrible masses. After years of practice, he hass become almost preternaturally adept at avoiding direct contact with others. He realizes, soon, that he will be rendered incapable of even leaving his apartment, and this knowledge brings an acid-tasting mixture of hope and hopelessness.
(And I'll bet he would love the Butt Face Towel!)I have a little personal shopping business.
For a mere $50 per hour I can find little treasures such as these for the special people in your life! Please call: 1-888-WHTTRSH

Owen Wilson-Tears of a Clown
It's amazing how many comedians have a dark side. Look at John Belushi, Chris Farley, Jim Carrey (suffered from major depression), Rosie O'Donnell, Rodney Dangerfield, Robin Williams, Ben Stiller (bi-polar), Richard Jeni (committed suicide earlier this year). The list goes on and on.
Being a performer is very stressful. It must be very difficult to please directors, producers and audiences all the time. Not to mention how scary it must be to have photographers watching your every move. I hope he makes a full recovery!
