I'll show you mine, if you show me yours!!! (And..you could win a prize!!)

As you know, November is officially, "Get My Shit Together" month.

It pains me to do this, but I am going to shame myself into getting organized.

Here are some examples of areas that desperately need my attention.

The kids' game closet...

The kitchen pantry...

Trust me, there are lots of other areas that need to be completely overhauled. But I'm starting here.

Here's my challenge. Take pictures of your problem areas. Post them on your blog and then we can cheer each other on to clean up our messes!

It's embarrassing as hell, but I'm hoping we can support each other.

Let me know if you decide to join me in my quest for organization. I need to know I'm not alone!!

Oh and P.S. Whoever accomplishes the most in November wins a fabulous prize. What's the prize?

First and foremost, it's the pride you will feel when you open your closets and know exactly where everything goes. It will change your life.

Second, it's a $75 gift certificate from Southern Living at HOME.

You heard it right. Now calm down.

I am the judge for this contest. I promise to be fair and impartial.

So post your before photos and let me know you're on board.

Deadline for signing up is this Friday, November 7th.

Footnote: Here are the specific contest rules. You must commit to the challenge by Friday, November 7th. On November 30th leave a comment and I will come to your blog and look at your before and after photos. The gift certificate will go to the person who transformed the most areas in their home. Good luck ladies (and Dr. Zibbs).

Scary. Seriously. Not your pictures, but the thought of taking my own.

I think I'd rather post naked pictures of myself. And then try to organize THAT.

How sick am I?

Oh, so mad. I just did two closets here and I didn't take before pictures. I wish I had. The transformation was amazing! Of course, I am having trouble keeping them - or should I say everyone else is having trouble - keeping them nice. Very bold posting pictures! What about the highest number of pounds of unused food sitting in the cupboard? Why do I buy these things? Canned apricots? Really? What would I have been thinking? Last I checked apricots don't go on Kraft so clearly there is no use to me.

The bad news for me - I read this after I cleaned my storage room.

The good news - it's done and perhaps it will stay clean (at least til the kids come home)

That is so clever. Do we need to submit the after photos by that date? If so, I'm out. If not, consider me in.

I'm going to give it a shot...as long as my tennis drama stays in check and under control.

Going to a 3.5-4.0 team practice tonight - they are going to 'check me out'...that was fast! :)

Man, I organized my pantry two months back...I paid something like $15 a roll for this cool "contact" paper that looked like granite--and the shit is FALLING off already--I am so not happy!

What a great idea! It will get everyone organized just in time for the holidays!

I'm a little scared at the thought of posting a pic of my garage shelves though!

So not fair. We just moved, I'm still relatively organized!

I would be totally on board, but we just did this over the summer! My hot tip is those closet organizers (with the square openings - sold at Target) for kid's rooms and playrooms. You can buy fabric drawers for them in all different colors. We mounted them right along the wall, no closet necessary, and then used fabric drawers to coordinate with the room. Adorable and hides the crap!

This is awesome! I made the same pact with myself for the month of November. I've already cleaned out the disastrous catch-all cabinet in the kitchen and done the top of the fridge. I can't wait to do more with this extra motivation! Thanks.

Now see, if I were at my parents' house I could do this. My apartment just isn't very big, and the messiest thing is my kitchen table...it seems to have a bad habit of acquiring mail and other junk...a habit I SWORE to not pick up. Guess I need to work on that.

I found you through If Mom Says OK. I'm not joining the challenge, this time around, but I will sure cheer you all on! Wish I could help!
