Miss Teen USA 2007 - South Carolina answers a question

Hubby pointed this one out to me. If you haven't seen it-check it out-it's priceless.

Now...try it yourself. Spring the question on an unsuspecting friend-in Miss Teen South Carolina's defense-it's not easy to answer a question like that under pressure...but she CHOKED!

Organized chaos...

My (middle) sister turned me on to the momAgenda products. Check out their website: www.momagenda.com

Their products are really stylish and practical. I got the momAgenda Kitchen Folio (it only comes in Hot Pink-which is adorable) and the momAgenda Mini Daily in chocolate to carry in my purse.

The pages are organized into sections for each child. Since I only have 2 kids-there are 2 extra spaces for me and hubby. LOVE IT!

First day of Third Grade!

Meg went off very happily to third grade today. She wanted me to drop her at 8 am-but I convinced her to wait until they opened the doors at 8:40. Full report later!

Meg update-she has returned from her first day triumphant! Loves her teacher-loves her classmates-only 182 days to go-but so far...so good!

By the way...do you think her little sister adores her - or what? Only 365 days until she starts kindergarten. THAT I'm not ready for!

It's all about me?

Today I went school shopping with 8 year old daughter. (Along with one of her best friends and her 5 year old brother) I struggled to keep her attention while picking out outfits and shoes she will actually wear. Finally she she snapped-"Mom-why does it always have to be about YOU?!" I was baffled-here I was sweating-flustered-trying to balance piles of clothes and shoes! "What are you talking about? I'm buying this all for YOU!!!" "Yeah-but YOU'RE the one who wants me to have new school clothes!!!" Hmmm. Food for thought and a great argument for school uniforms. I should have just headed straight for Banana Republic and acted like the selfish mommy I seem to be. Or-maybe I should just send her to school wearing "floods" and torn flip-flops. Maybe I can make a dress from Webkinz or call Super Nanny, or Nanny McPhee or Dr. Phil...BAD MOMMY!

I think I'll go take a bottle of Midol.Justify Full

The "blockage" is cleared!

I stand corrected! In my last post I begged for comments from the peanut gallery-I was then informed that it was impossible to do so!

Sorry-my sister put a couple of "wise ass" comments on my site-so I threw up a block. I have now removed it-SO BE NICE!

The Fair Haven Fireman's Fair

Tonight was the final night of the above mentioned event! I almost forgot about it-but my almost 8 year old daughter sure didn't!!

It really is fun-like a Norman Rockwell painting full of yuppies and their yuppie puppies. We had a great time. I'm waiting for my phone call to tell me I won the 50-50. The prize is 20 grand!!! Wouldn't that be a treat.

It was hard controlling myself in the eating department-the fair offers all the typical artery clogging, sugar laden goodies you can imagine. We feasted on hot dogs, cheese fries, cotton candy, mustard smeared soft pretzels and clam chowder.

It's amazing nobody puked on the bumper cars!

Going to the fair is always bittersweet-because it officially ends our summer season.

Now it's time to empty the cabana and pull out the backpacks!

M is starting 3rd grade on Wednesday. The e-mails and phone calls have been flying to see "who's in who's class!" Lots of excitement. The good part is-M is completely excited to start school-I'm really proud of her.

I'm turning in early tonight-we had an awesome visit with my 2 sisters and their VERY active children. My little sis's Southern Living party was tons of fun. It seems the only time I drink too much is at those parties. Must be an occupational hazard of being a "party professional."
